Dao is from Burkina Faso. He came to Italy 12 years ago and quickly found work in a Fiat plant in Milan. 2 years ago the factory closed and he’s been unemployed and living in the Migrant center since. His efforts have put his oldest son, now 24, through university. His son is now in medical school. Dao is confident his son will be successful but fears that his son will abandon tradition and not provide for the rest of the family if he ‘becomes European.”
